Membership Criteria
NPHI brings together organizations that share a commitment to quality, innovation, collaboration and advancing the future of care. All prospective members are evaluated for alignment with NPHI’s mission, values and membership expectations.
General Membership Expectations
Must be a *nonprofit organization
*Individual memberships are not available. All members are nonprofit organizations
Must provide services beyond the Medicare hospice benefit
*Only applicable to Core Provider Members.
Adherence to NPHI's mission, vision and values
Commitment to high-quality, compassionate and mission-driven care
Commitment to collaboration, innovation and sharing expertise and resources
Willingness to participate in relevant NPHI initiatives and activities
Ability to meet applicable membership dues and requirements
Dues differ by membership category. Core Provider Members based on PSR from line 9 of the current 990 form.
Specific Criteria for Core Provider Members
Core Provider Members are expected to demonstrate a commitment to comprehensive, innovative care, including:
- Nonprofit status and direct provision of hospice care.
- Services extending beyond the Medicare Hospice Benefit.
- Commitment to open access, quality improvement and data sharing.
- Active engagement of organizational leadership.
- Willingness to support initiatives advancing NPHI and member priorities.
- Ability to pay annual dues based on PSR from line 9 of the current 990 form.

Tell us about your organization and the membership category you're interested in. Current members may also recommend prospective organizations.
*Recommending members may be asked to reference how the prospect meets membership criteria.

An NPHI team member will meet with you to learn more about your organization, answer questions and explore alignment with our mission.
Membership review
Our team will review your organization's eligibility and fit. Organizations that meet the applicable criteria and are approved will be invited to complete membership paperwork.
