Healthcare association leader joins NPHI as organization expands its national reach and strengthens its commitment to nonprofit hospice and advanced illness care providers
WASHINGTON, D.C. — [August 26, 2026] — The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) today announced that Calvin McDaniel will join the organization as Vice President of Strategic Engagement in late September, further strengthening NPHI’s leadership team as the organization continues to grow its membership, national presence, and work on behalf of nonprofit providers.
Calvin is transitioning to NPHI from the National Alliance for Care at Home, where he recently served as Chief of Staff and focused on the Alliance Board of Directors and industry relations, as well as management of the executive office. Previously, he served as Senior Director of Government Affairs for the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), leading advocacy strategies, analyzing healthcare legislation, and advising on industry policy trends.
His arrival comes at an important moment for NPHI and the nonprofit hospice sector. NPHI has experienced significant growth in recent years, with a growing number of nonprofit hospice and advanced illness care organizations expressing interest in joining the organization’s national mission-driven community. As providers navigate mounting regulatory, financial, workforce, and competitive pressures, NPHI is expanding its capacity to ensure mission-driven organizations have a strong national voice and the support they need to remain viable and continue serving their communities.

As Vice President of Strategic Engagement, Calvin will oversee member outreach and communications, help lead special projects and strategic initiatives across the organization, and support NPHI’s continued growth, including outreach to and engagement with prospective members. He will be based in Washington, D.C., at NPHI’s main office.

Calvin brings extensive experience spanning healthcare, association leadership, government affairs, and public policy. Prior to his work at NAHC and the Alliance, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives and as a consultant at Cerner Corporation. “There is tremendous momentum behind NPHI right now, and Calvin’s decision to join our team speaks to where this organization is headed,” said Carole Fisher, President of NPHI. “Nonprofit providers are looking for a place that understands who they are, what makes their missions different, and why preserving that difference matters.
